My older sister lies.
Constantly. Literally almost all the time.
She convinced me when I was 10 and she was 16 that she was pregnant, and went on with the story for months, until she supposedly gave birth to a dead baby that looked like me, and buried it in our back yard.
The guilt of knowing and not telling ate me alive! I later found out that my parents had been keeping close tabs on her, and knew for a fact that she couldn't be pregnant. But that was just the king of things she's said.
No reason, just for fun. As a young child, she got her teachers at school to believe she was being abused by our parent's, when in reality, nothing had happened. She told one person in her class she was from Texas, and another that she was from Australia. The "game" was always to make sure that everyone believed everything she said. Of course, this game did just the opposite. Now no one believes anything she says.
She would often come to me and brag about the great lies she would tell. What's so odd is, that it wasn't pathological. It was all completely voluntary.
Now, she is 23 years old and currently in the begining stages of divorce because her husband found out that most of what she told him had been lies. Some game huh? I have to admit though, she was excellent at it.
