I don't know why we should be so surprised about all of this. I head on public radio tonight about a book called Deep Cover written by a DEA agent -- the book claims that deep cover agents revealed CONCRETE links to the Mexican Gornments role in DRUG SMUGGLING and the BUSH administration SNUFFED out the investigation so that NAFTA would someday pass.
The Government wants us all hooked. Shit -- why not pardon the drug trafficer if we are going let the whole MEXICAN government off the hook!

But these pardons sickened me. I suppose that the folks who hated him all along weren't shocked by any of this, and, of course, they can always say, "I told you so." And they'd be right. Here's something to ponder: There are tens of thousands of people sitting in our prisons for years for drug possession -- not dealing, not trafficking. Shouldn't they be pardoned before the guy who brought in 800 pounds of cocaine? I would suspect that they guys on Roger Clinton's list were more deserving of pardons than the two guys his brother-in-law was pushing.
