: Ezekiel,
: Why do you believe in God?

I am an agnostic, thus I neither believe or disbelieve in God per se. However, I do disbelieve in a Christian concept of God, which I believe is a mixture of Islamic and Egyptian religion made over to appeal to Western civilisation.

What is my concept of God?

Well, I won't claim that God is male/female or even human, as God is most likely unique. I don't care or know whether God created the universe, as that can never be proven. I highly doubt whether God cares at all about humans in any way other than as interesting trinkets. God perhaps has interfered in the human way of life previously, but only on rare occasions for no particular purpose, and I doubt God is perfect, benevolent or even omniscient. I don't ask God for anything, and I don't expect anything in return.

Personally, I think people take things far too seriously, and love to idolise things to add meaning to their purposeless existence. People need guidance, and choose to cling to any pre-existing guidelines rather than choose to exercise their own judgement.

Am I wrong about God? Perhaps. But in any case a truly benevolent God would accept the fact that there is sufficient room for doubt in life and Christian doctrines to forgive me for this.
