: Yes, we can be nice to anyone regardless but why should we. I happen to feel better when I am nicer but I cannot find it in me to be nice most of the time. I am an a - hole. Without my faith and persistence in trying to maintain some kind of spiritual condition I end up be mean to more and more people...

Don't feel guilty, you're human, we're all pretty much a-holes :) Be mean to as many people as you like, just be prepared to cop the same thing back :) I never said you had to be nice, i just stated that you don't have to be christian to be nice.

: So, I mean this question sincerely, how does it feel to be athiest? I mean it -- I'm just curious.

I'm not an atheist, I'm an agnostic. However, I feel the same as any other normal person :) We are not special flowers, we get by in life day by day just like everyone else. We're not nastier than anyone, we're not nicer, we're just us :) Not that I can speak for all agnostics out there.
Don't try to segment people into groups, coz no matter how similarly we act, we're all different.

Speaking more specifically, I accept the fact that someday I will die and become no more. But who wants to go gently into that last goodnight. I find it in my character to reward nice people for their deeds, avoid people i dislike and attempt to be as honest as possible. I get irritable and insult others, but that's me.
