: : Welcome again to you too Aslan :)

Sorry for the multiple welcomes.

Hola Ezek! (just kidding:-)

: I don't believe 'humans perform miracles' per say. I believe that God has something to do with it. Personally, I do think that the sun will rise is a terrific analogy. It's something most of us expect daily, yet others point to with wonder and say "See, it's a miracle!". If that's the case, I tend to lean towards your reasoning, it's a miracle that has occured every day since we were born, so how does that make it stand apart?
: : An everyday occurance does not a 'miracle' make, in my opinion.

: What is a God-inspired miracle then in your opinion?
-----------------------------------------------
I believe that is a question many can answer in a myriad of different ways. As in, I think it's relative and subjective. What I consider a God inspired miracle can easily be dismissed by others who may not understand my situation at that time. The same can be said for everyone else. What my neighbor considers a God inspired miracle may be an entirely different thing.
I guess what I'm saying is that at different times in our life we are open and vulnerable. If something touches us, that we feel is truly holy, it's hard to put that into words. How do you describe a feeling that you would even admit to yourself is 'undefinable'?
(I hope that makes sense, I've been up for over 30 hours now. The fact that I can still type would not be a 'God inspired miracle'. Well, not to me at least:)
----------------------------------------------
: : I read some of Hume's essays. Do you have any specific suggestions?
: He has four main works, these are "Treatise of Human Nature", "Inquiry into Human Understanding", "Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion" and "Essay on Miracles".
------------------------------------------
I will do some more perusing. Thank you.

: : Have you had a chance to read any Lewis works? If you're short on time, I can toss a few essay links your way. Just let me know.

: No, I'm afraid I haven't had time, been very busy. I really would appreciate some essay links, as I find it hard to get time to visit a library or bookshop.
-------------------------------------------------
Here's one that made me think of you (even though I don't know you:)

(PS, I hope you and I aren't the only ones reading this thread. I would hate for anyone to feel excluded. If anyone ventures here, please feel free to add your comments. We're all family !)
