Hi Dave,

Here are some ways lies save lives:

1) A criminal is holding people hostage and threatening to kill them. The hostage negotiator lies to the criminal to get him to free the hostages.

2) A man finds out his wife was cheating on him. He pulls a gun and demands she tell him about her affair. She lies and says she never had an affair. This could save her life, her lover's life and her husband's life.

3) Someone is standing on the ledge of a building about to commit suicide. They are saved by someone who says things to the effect of "Everything will be okay, life will be easier, if you come down." Of course everything will not always be okay in life, but this is the kind of lie that can save a life if it is used in an emergency situation. However, it's the type of lie that can take lives if people believe it on a daily basis.

(By the way, what helped save my life was reading "The Road Less Traveled" by M. Scott Peck. The first three words in that book are "Life is difficult." What a revelation to learn that life is not supposed to be easy. Expecting things to be easy in life is probably one of the greatest sources of pain.)

: I recently told my friend that 'lies save lives'. She asked me to prove it. I'm kind of struglling to prove it, and can only come up with a few crappy points about children getting vaccinated, criminals pleading their innocence, and a load of other dodgy stuff. HELP ME PROVE IT PLEEEEAAAAAAAASE!!!
