I read your statement and, quite frankly, I am puzzled by your reaction. I could probably understand it if you'd lied about five or more years difference, but just one year. It's nothing to get worked up over. Unless he's going to go ballistic on you and knock you about, then you don't need him.
However, should you tell him the truth, and he asks why you lied, then simply say that a woman never reveals her real age, end of story.
Should you use this piece of advice, please let me know the outcome.
