To get out of trouble
To cover up the truth
So they won't hurt people's feelings
Just to see if they can get away with it
Save your butt
No apparent reason
Because others lied to them
Just because you can
It's a habit
It's a disorder
They feel they can handle the situation themselves of they postpone it for a little while
To buy themselves time
To get what they want
To place the blame on someone or something else for their screw-ups
To size a person up
To see what kind of reaction they recieve from certain comments or answers
To decieve someone into doing something they don't want to or shouldn't
